It was a horrible day

Stef told me to use that title. It was actually an excellent day - MOST excellent, indeed!

This morning we went to Venice Beach, our favorite spot out here. We walked around, had breakfast at our favorite restaurant out here, the Sidewalk Cafe, watched the street musicians, giggled at the vendors trying to sell medicinal marijuana, and tried not to inhale too much smoke :o) We also watched the skateboarders, sat on the beach, and got a tan line :o(.

After Venice Beach, we headed back to our hotel to check on email (and I got none for you), with a quick stop at Baldwin Hill Overlook, then headed up to Hollywood. The Academy Awards (Oscars) are playing on Sunday, so the Kodak Theater, and the street in front of it, is all closed and detoured and very exciting. We got to walk on the red carpet (although it was all wrapped up in plastic), and we went to Build-a-Bear and bought Mickey a new t-shirt. Check out Stef's pictures to see it. She even got a picture with Elvis and Elmo - not sure which was scarier! We were also able to take a couple of pictures with Mickey on his own star and Walt Disney's star. pretty darn cool!

After wandering around a bot, we drove to the Saddle Ranch Chop House on Sunset Blvd for a really Happy Hour or 2, and pigged out on half-priced appies. the waitress really liked us, and thought it was cool that we were from Vancouver, and she was going to Vancouver in April, so she also gave us a free brownie's and ice-cream dessert. I am still too full.

After dinner we went up Laurel Canyon and Mulholland Drive to a couple of Overlooks. Hopefully the pictures turn out nice.

Yesterday we were in Santa Barbara, visiting some good friends. Today was here, and tomorrow is San Diego. We are have SO MUCH FUN!!!
