I enjoy every sunny day we get - and they are few and far between. Couple day of sun, more than a couple days of rain. Soggy and depressing? Na, I live across the beach - WHO CARES!
Went for a walk yesterday, as I should very day. I walked to the west end of the promenade - almost. The last 100 feet or so was commandeered by one of those exercise groups that can't afford to get their own space, or a business license, so they use the public land and parks. They had a little sprinting course set up, and were using the park benches for vaulting, jumping on top of them and over them. I am sure that the people that donated the benches in memory of their loved ones would be really pleased to know how they are being used. I think I might tell them.
What is it about joggers, huh? Are their brains all rattled from the pavement pounding? They practically run right into you, trying to get around you. Try running on the side of the road, and leave the promenade to those of us that take the time to enjoy it - WALKING! Better yet, set up a jogging track on the side of Hwy 99.
Yesterday I saw a lady walking on the railroad tracks, talking on a cell phone. It was about 6:50PM, and I know that the train is coming at 7PM - I live there. I just shook my head. There have been a few accidents in the last few years, and there will be a few more - people never learn, I guess.
So, here I am, waiting for the sun to shine, waiting for my 6/49 ticket numbers to be called, waiting for my next vacation. In the meantime, at least I can enjoy the beach.
