Yup, very little. As we were falling asleep last night, we heard a fire alarm bell ringing. Looked outside, and noticed it was from the condo next door (whew!). We didn't hear any screaming or smell any smoke, so we figure it was likely a false alarm. Not 2 minutes later we heard a siren - the first of many. After the 3rd siren, I got dressed and went outside to take a look.
Turns out I wasn't the only curious cat out there. There was a ladder truck with hoses connected to it, another fire truck, 2 police cars, a police van (supervisor, I think), and an ambulance. Another fire truck (paramedic) pulled up shortly after I got there. I was trying to see what was going on, and I noticed that most of the activity was coming from the underground parking lot, the public one, under the condo. I saw a lot of firemen coming and going, then one came out all covered in black, still wearing his respirator. I heard someone say something about a car and a driver, and assumed that it was a car fire under the condo. Interesting. I hung around for a while, wondering if I would see much more, but that was about it. It was already late, and I hate to work in the morning, so I knocked off.
This morning I tool a little detour, and drove into the parkade, Right at the back I noticed a pile of ash and soot and stuff on the ground, water stains, and the ceiling was scorched black; and there was a fire and safety company repairs the sprinklers and stuff. So, it looks like it was a car fire, but I don't know much else. I know a guy that lives in the condo - I wonder if he knows anything ...
Taking off for Vegas tomorrow. No beaches there, but it is a fairly inexpensive weekend getaway. Maybe we will win some big money while we are playing the penny slots LOL
